Duncan Cowper scores again in 'Ten of the Best'
Unfortunately Duncan's new car had some teething problems and despite Duncan burning the midnight oil he was unable to get it ready for TOTB VII.
So not to be out done, he dusted off last years RUSH MC and with only a few hours preparation set off to Elvington in York.
He managed an amazing first in 'Fastest Turbocharged Car', Overall Handling and 'Handling-Class Winner RWD'
Just as he was about to go for TOTB when his engine died but he still manage 5th overall out of a field of over 100 cars.

A Top Class Performance at the Top Gear Track
from Duncan & his DAX
An adrenaline-fuelled lap by Duncan Cowper in his DAX Rush MC Hyabusa Turbo has amazingly equalled the 1 min 17.6 sec 'Top Gear' track record set by the Stig in the Koenigsegg CCX (with TG spoiler). A remarkable achievement when it's realised that Duncan's Rush had in the region of 500 fewer bhp and conceded more than 100 mph on top speed!
Duncan's latest record attempt, made on Tuesday 12th June 2007, was his second visit to the 'Top Gear' circuit at Dunsford Park. Rain had dominated his first attempt but Duncan had still managed to place himself firmly on the 'PH Driving Challenge' leader board with an extraordinarily quick 'wet' time of 1 min 30.2 sec. The quickness of the time surprised even Duncan as the Rush’s tyres were well past their best for the attempt – although e-marked, they apparently couldn’t have been described as road legal!!
The forecast for the morning of the 12th promised an all too familiar mix of sunshine and showers and Duncan feared another wet outing but in the event the weather held.
“I am really pleased with our performance on the day,” said Duncan. “Setbacks are sure to happen in motorsport and I lost quite a bit of track time due to an errant plenum. But, on the runs that I did manage to get in, I was getting quicker and quicker with every lap and I’m sure there’s at least another half a second to be had!”
“Not bad for a standard production road-registered Rush MC with no wing assistance (front or rear), bog standard Ford sliding-caliper brakes, and totally road-legal e-marked tyres!”
“It would arguably be against the spirit of the event to use them but I reckon I could cut a further 2 seconds just by fitting a good set of track-day tyres. That really would put the cat amongst the pigeons!!!”
