DAX Rush Driver Andy Sterling Returns to Triumph
DAX Rush driver Andy Sterling became the 'Overall Which Kit 750 Motor
Club Kit Car Champion' for the second time after winning a hard-fought
last race of the season at Snetterton on Sunday 9th October.
Andy entered the race knowing
that he was already the '2005 Class A Champion' but still needed to
do well on the day in order to secure the overall championship title.
His win at Snetterton completed an astonishing clean sweep of the board,
having won twelve scoring rounds out of twelve with no fewer than ten
fastest laps.
Andy's success in the current championship followed a four-year layoff and was
all the more remarkable as it was made in exactly the same car that he used to
win the championship in 2001 – the only modifications being a fresh set of body
panels and a new set of AO48R tyres.
"I found the competition a lot hotter this time round" said Andy from Lymington,
Hants, "but it speaks volumes that I was still able to remain so dominant in
the DAX. It proves just how good the car is. I obviously couldn’t be more pleased
and would just like to thank everyone who has helped me throughout the year,
especially my main sponsor 'Travelspot' and, of course, DAX".
Andy's Rush is powered by a JE Developments 3.6 litre Rover V8 engine running
twin SU carburettors and producing some 256bhp. The car also has the distinction
of being the first competition DAX to be fitted with the highly successful Camber
Compensation & Ant-Roll suspension system.
This unique and patented system constantly optimises each footprint with the
road in order to maximise grip. It greatly increases predictability and composure
for the driver while countering roll and allowing the car to be much softer sprung.
Following on from Andy's initial success with the system, DAX now offer CC&AR
as a standard production option on both their Rush MC and DAX 427 models.
