Press Release - 'Green Machine'
DJ Sportscars International Ltd has caused big headlines recently with their new 8.2-litre DAX 427 demonstrator complete with patented Camber Compensation & Anti-Roll system, rear de Dion suspension and EPAS (electronic power assisted steering). It can now be said to be as ecologically green as its paintwork, after recently passing SVA fitted with catalytic converters.
The stainless steel free flow cats were installed in the front section of each exhaust side pipe, with the whole ensemble controlled by an Edelbrock ECU, which enables the system to be re-mapped thus controlling Lambda, vacuum, rev range and engine power settings for the Chevy big block 502 cu. in. with 502bhp and a whopping 567lb/ft torque.
DJ Sportscars’ managing director Brian Johns explained “We wanted to prove that despite the huge power of the Chevy big block V8, we could make the engine ecologically efficient enough to pass all emissions requirements. It proves that a muscle car can environmentally friendly, so the DAX 427 truly is as green as its paint scheme”!
The Harlow-based company, Essex’s largest car manufacturer, also had a very successful National Kitcar Motorshow, at Stoneleigh recently with big interest and orders placed for both the DAX 427 and its sister Rush model.
The car appeared at the Cobra Replica Club event at Elvington in May and left nobody in any doubt how good the suspension on this car is. With cars of similar power close behind, the Green Machine went into the bends around the pits to exit some 200 yards ahead!!!!! People with other ‘makes’ of Cobra could only comment that theirs seemed crude, once they had a test drive round the circuit.
