Double delight at DAX Open Day
April 2001
A record number of
visitors to the 'best ever' DAX Open Day on Friday 13th April received a twin
treat...not just one lightweight motorcycle-engined DAX Rush to drool over, but
two.
As well as the expected prototype turbo-Hayabusa-powered DAX Rush
Lightweight - resplendent in black and aluminium - they were surprised to see
the first production lightweight. The yellow and black Fireblade-powered car
has been build up by DAX development engineer and test driver Gary Saunders for
his own use. Both cars will be making their show debut at Stoneleigh,
Warwickshire on 6th and 7th May.
While the lightweight cars - the
prototype was first seen in bare chassis form at this event last year - were
the undoubted stars, DJ Sportscars International's other recent new build, the
yellow long wheel-base DAX Rush which made its show debut at Bingley on 10th
and 11th March, also attracted plenty of attention and many favourable
comments.
