DAX sales top the ton in 'exceptional year'

DJ Sportscars International sold more than 100 cars in 2001, making it one of the company's best years ever.

"It has been an exceptional year," said DJ Managing Director Brian Johns. "In one month alone, May, we sold 26 cars. That is effectively one car every working day. Over the year as a whole, we have been selling three cars per working week."

The May sales boost followed the hugely successful debut of the motorcycle-engined lightweight DAX Rush at the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, where it was the unquestioned star of the show. The year was also marked by an export-led resurgence in demand for the DAX Tojeiro.

DAX Rush racer Andy Sterling.		DAX Rush racer Andy Sterling - holder of the grp.com Kit-Car Championship - has become the first person to be named DAX Driver of the Year for a second year in succession. Andy, from Brockenhurst in Hampshire, has been the most prolific winner in the 750 Motor Club-run championship in recent seasons with his DAX Rush IRS chassis, powered by a Rover V8 and fitted with DAX designer Peter Walker's unique Camber Compensation and Anti-Roll system front and rear.

DJ multiplies engine options for motorcycle-powered DAX Rush

DJ Sportscars International is developing an impressive range of engine options for the popular motorcycle-powered variant of its successful DAX Rush clubman-style sports car.

In addition to the now-familiar Suzuki Hayabusa and Honda Fireblade-powered cars which stole the show on their debut at Stoneleigh last year, DJ has now developed mounting systems for the Honda CBR 1000, Kawasaki ZX9 and ZZR 1100 and Suzuki RF 900 engines.

"Essentially, we will help customers to fit any motorcycle engine they like," said DAX designer Peter Walker. "Once we have developed the mounting system for any engine, we are then able to offer it to other customers as an existing option on either the lightweight or super-lightweight DAX Rush De Dion chassis."
