Double champion
named
DAX Driver of the Year

Double Midland Hill Climb Champion Malcolm Dungworth has been
named as the DAX Driver of the Year for 1999.
Driving a DAX Rush
Cosworth, Malcolm won the Super Clutch-sponsored class for modified roadgoing
production cars over 2000cc in the prestigious Clark's Motor Group Midland Hill
Climb Championship. He scored twice as many points as his nearest rival.
He also claimed the Homesitters Over 50 Award by just eight points
after a season-long battle.
"As always, there were a number of
exceptional motor sport performances by drivers of DAX cars," said designer
Peter Walker of DAX manufacturer DJ Sportscars International. "After long
deliberation, we decided to recognise Malcolm's unique double. Mind you, he
doesn't know yet as he is out of the country."
Malcolm Dungworth
succeeds inaugural DAX Driver of the Year Duncan Cowper - builder and driver of
the 'fastest-accelerating kit car in the world'.
As with all DAX
models, the DAX Rush is designed to meet all SVA requirements. A DJ Sportscars
DAX Rush was first amateur-built car to receive a Minister's Approval
Certificate from the Vehicle Inspectorate's main London Testing Centre, passing
at its first attempt.
