DAX owners Rush to sign up for new club

Rush owners from all over the UK have been responding enthusiastically to a DJ
Sportscars International survey assessing interest in the formation of a new
club.
DJ, makers of the DAX range of specialists sports cars, has
teamed up with Terry Roberts - owner of the first UK DAX Rush prototype, PJN
369R - on the project. Terry already runs a successful regional club in the
West Country.
Brian Johns, Managing Director of DJ said: "Ever since
we started production of the Rush there have been numerous requests for an
owners ' club. We did try and organise one ourselves, but without success.
Terry Roberts, however, has run his local club successfully for some years. We
are delighted that he has now been persuaded - with our support - to extend
this concept to encompass a national club constructed from area clubs."
Terry said that initial response to the questionnaire sent to known DAX Rush
owners had been extremely positive. "We have had some 60 replies and , most
importantly, a number of people have come forward who are volunteering to set
up area clubs.
"Now the challenge is to build on this enthusiasm to
create a network of areas linked into a central office which can inform DAX of
our needs, concerns and ideas to assist both the club and DAX to go forward
into the millennium and to make a very special car even better."
Among
the sort of activities that area clubs will organise could be events like
camping rallies, barbecues and track testing days. There are proposals for a
help line service to assist in build projects and for area or regional
newsletters.

As with all DAX models, the
Rush is designed to meet all SVA requirements. Last year, a DJ Sportscars DAX
Rush became the first amateur-built car to receive a Minister's Approval
Certificate from the Vehicle Inspectorate's main London Testing Centre, passing
at its first attempt.
